Grown on our farm and hand dig late in the fall and early winter when the energy of the Burdock plant is concentrated in the roots.
We chop our burdock roots up and dry them. If you would like to make burdock root powder (to add to smoothies or make capsules) an inexpensive coffee grinder will do the trick.
These roots are from the native Burdock- Not the variety 'Gobo' which has been bred for easier cultivation and uniform growing. We prefer to grow the native variety for medicinal purposes despite it being more difficult to cultivate.
